Understanding the Problem
The core challenge was integrating two distinct brands — Nest Market (organic food) and Junior Nest (baby food) — into a single platform without creating a fragmented or confusing user experience. Each brand needed its own identity, product catalog, and audience, yet had to feel like a seamless part of the same trusted store.
On the payment side, Bangladesh's digital payment landscape required a manual verification approach: instead of an automated gateway, customers pay via bKash QR scan and submit a transaction ID and screenshot for admin confirmation. Building a reliable, fraud-resistant order flow around this manual step — while keeping the checkout experience smooth — was a key design challenge.
Additionally, managing multiple user roles (admin, staff, customer) with appropriate access controls, while keeping the admin panel intuitive enough for a non-technical team to operate daily, required careful planning of the permission and order management system.
Our Approach
The dual-brand structure was solved through a clean category and section architecture within a single Laravel application — Junior Nest operates as a fully branded sub-section with its own product catalog and landing experience, while sharing the same cart, checkout, and admin infrastructure as the main Nest Market store.
The bKash payment flow was implemented as a guided manual verification process: the customer sees the bKash QR code at checkout, completes payment on their banking app, then submits the transaction ID and a payment screenshot directly on the platform. Admins review and confirm the payment before the order is processed — keeping the flow transparent and verifiable without requiring a third-party payment gateway.
Role-based access control ensures that team members only see what they need — admins have full access to products, orders, payments, and users, while staff roles are scoped to relevant operations. The order management panel gives the team a clear view of pending payments, confirmed orders, and delivery status in one place.
Measurable Impact
Nest Market successfully launched as a unified platform where customers can browse organic food and baby nutrition products in one place — without the friction of switching between separate stores. The dual-brand structure under one roof strengthens brand trust while expanding the customer base to both health-conscious adults and parents.
The bKash QR-based payment flow — though manual — gives customers a familiar, trusted payment method widely used in Bangladesh, reducing checkout abandonment compared to unfamiliar international gateways. Admins can verify payments quickly through the screenshot submission system, keeping order processing reliable and fraud risk low.
The role-based admin panel enables the Nest Market team to manage products, verify payments, track orders, and update delivery status independently — without requiring developer involvement in day-to-day operations.
